- Name is typically in two parts:
- Click the Add button
- If you have additional Families to add, repeat the above, to create each one.
- Once you have your Family(ies) created, you can now go and add the attributes.
- Use the ‘name begins with…’ box and go button to find one of your newly created attributes
- You can type ‘8000-s’ to find any attribute that starts with ‘8000-s’
- Alternately, you can type ‘%8000’ to get a list of any families that contain ‘8000’ in the name
- When you find your new family, click ‘Edit’ on the far right
- In the Attributes column, click the ‘new’ link to bring up the list of Attributes available on the site
- Scroll the list to add the attribute group applicable for the family you are adding, like ‘color-8000-san’
- Click the Add button
- If the family has several attributes, repeat the above
- For example, a tee shirt may have color, size and gender, so three attribute groups would be added.
- When all attribute groups have been added to the Family, click ‘Update’ on the right.
- Repeat for other new families you created
PLEASE NOTE: Generally, an attribute with a SKU in the product name should be used for ONLY that product. Using it for multiple products can cause data conflicts and cause products to render incorrectly, or not at all on the site. Generic attribute groups, like size-SAN-OSFA (and most other size groups), or ‘gender’ can be used in multiple product families when combined with a product specific attribute like color-8000-san. No addtional custom (pproduct only) attribute groups should be required.
Once your families are created, you can add them to a product.
